How Twitter Has Invaded Our Lives

posted by Alex Cleanthous in Social Marketing

If you haven’t been Twittering lately, then you haven’t lived at all. It seems that Twitter – the website that promotes blogging on a tiny scale – has captured the attention of plenty of people with lots of diverse motives for using it.

At first glance you might wonder why everyone is so keen to use it. After all this really is blogging in a hurry – you get a mere 140 characters to say your piece, and that includes a link to another website if you want it.

But therein lies the attraction. It seems that a lot of people become intimidated or overwhelmed by the prospect of keeping up with the demands of a normal blog, whereas Twitter takes all those away by limiting the amount you can say. Of course there will always be those who join up and get started, only to abandon it as a waste of time just a few days later.

So are there rewards on the site for those who seek them, or is it just another social networking site?

How To Make Your Money Stretch Further With PPC Advertising

posted by Alex Cleanthous in PPC Advertising

The most important part of any pay per click advertising campaign as far as you are concerned – apart from getting lots of extra traffic to your website that is – is that your money goes as far as it possibly can.

Now it probably won’t surprise you to know that bidding on the term ‘credit card’ will cost you far more than it would to bid on the term ‘grasshopper’. You’d be looking at dollars rather than cents – and a lot more competition to boot.

So what do you do if you have a website which is all about credit cards, and you can’t afford to compete with the big guns that can afford to pay $30 or more per click?

Simple – you change your focus to make your money go further.

How To Use Keyword Selection Tools To Help Your PPC Campaign

posted by Alex Cleanthous in PPC Advertising

Keyword selection tools are invaluable for every single website owner in existence. Thinking up keywords to use on your website isn’t always the easiest job, and there is every chance you will forget one or two good ones that would bring great results if only you’d thought of them earlier.

The same applies to your pay per click campaigns. If you try and organize one without using a keyword selection tool to help you, there is a much higher chance of wasting your money by bidding on search terms that aren’t realistically going to bring you the traffic you are looking for.

The good news is that there are plenty of good – and free – tools online that will help you find the best words without having to rack your brains in the process. Simply go to Google or Yahoo and type in ‘keyword selection tools’ to see a list of the best ones.

The main point to remember with any selection tool like this is to enter a more generic word to begin with. This will return a longer list of search terms to consider – but it will also ensure that you get search terms you wouldn’t have thought of otherwise.
